Zee Dempster

Author, Storyteller, Educator

A lifelong New Yorker, Zee Dempster finds inspiration for her story telling from a variety of sources. The knowledge she acquired from her BS in Computer Science and MA in Government and Politics at St. John’s University, provides the intellectual stimulus for her characters. Music and movies drive her creative engine. Listening to music lead her to write song lyrics and her love of science fiction movies inspired her preferred genre of writing, Speculative Fiction. She has attended the Gotham Writers Workshop in New York City, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA, the Wild Seeds Writer’s Retreat, online, and The Writer’s Hotel, online, where she received the 2020 Sara Patton Fiction Stipend. Zee’s first novel titled “The Aurora Satellite,” is a speculative fiction story that visits a post-apocalyptic earth in the not so distant future. She is currently writing the sequel, exploring the richness of poetry and harvesting ideas for short stories.
